LAUNDRY, BODY & HOUSEHOLD –
A La Maison Rose Lilac Soap w Shea Butter & Argan Oil
A La Maison Lavender Aloe Liquid Hand Soap
A La Maison Coconut Charcoal Soap w Coconut & Jojoba Oils
I bought these new “flavors” of A La Maison soap bars from WF in Feb ’22 and I like them (I started out w Oat Milk in 2020 and did not like it, too perfume-y). As a whole, I love A La Maison; I’ve been buying the liquid Lavendar soap to wash my hands in the bathroom for years (but I’ve also used it for my body tho it doesn’t lather great). The bars are soooo luxuriating & foamy and lathery and just feel so luxurious. I wouldn’t try to cut one (they’re pretty big) when dry bc it’ll crumble into a kajillion pieces.
Denman Hairbrush for Curly Hair D5 – Heavyweight 9 Row
Amazon Basics Washcloths – Pack of 24 White 12″ x 12″
Desert Essence 100% Pure Jojoba Oil – 4 oz
I really like Trader Joe’s jojoba oil, but I don’t live near one so this is the brand I buy and only from Whole Foods. Somexs I pour it on my Denman brush while washing my hair, which pretty much destroyed/ate the rubber pad on my first Denman that I bought in 2017 and replaced in ’21. But I love this one even better bc the grip is sturdier (tho the rubber pad & associated bristles still go flinging against the shower wall once in a while. The pad is removable to clean, which I love). I’ve also been buying these washcloths (regularly) since ’17, the latest 2020. I buy them white (now) so I can see the dirt; I handwash & boil them (and I’m gonna need a new set soon since I set most of the last ones I have accidentally on fire). I love these rags bc they’re the perfect combo of disposable yet enough quality to last some years. I’ve been contemplating securing the weird jutting end threads of the cloths w some sewing (they’ve been fine, but when I used to run em through a washer, they’d come unraveled like crazy and I’d have to buy a new set). Like the factory workers stop sewing reasonably after a certain point for too much quality for the price.
HOUSEHOLD & BODY –
365 Whole Foods Market Essential Oil Tea Tree
365 Whole Foods Market Essential Oil Peppermint
365 Whole Foods Market Essential Oil Lemongrass
365 Whole Foods Market Essential Oil Lemon
365 Whole Foods Market Essential Oil Eucalyptus
365 Whole Foods Market Essential Oil Lavender
I’ve been using (Whole Foods) essential oils for years, and I have all of these mostly in the 2 oz bottles. Seriously. Essential oils are probably the only thing keeping me from lighting the house and my body on fire to disinfect it. I bought Lemongrass in March ’22 to try for my dandruff, and I think it’s working, but it’s very potent, the smell is almost too much. I went to bed the first night smelling like a citronelle candle (Lemongrass also works great as an insect repellant). I love essential oils for their disinfectant properties—particularly Tea Tree—& I use most of them for bathing and washing up. In the past, I’ve put Eucalyptus on the walls of my shower to “open me up” in combination w the steam, especially during cold season. I use Tea Tree somexs for laundry, and sometimes Tea Tree or Lavender w black soap to wash my hair. Sniffing Peppermint somexs works for headaches, application for sore muscles & I’ve used a drop or two of it, or Tea Tree, in the hot water to steam my face. I use lemon oil more for cleaning & deodorizing.
BODY & FRAGRANCE –
Kuumba Made Fragrance Oil Black Coconut 0.125 Oz
Kuumba Made Fragrance Oil Lavender Lace 0.125 Oz
Kuumba Made Fragrance Oil Amber Paste 0.125 Oz
Whole Foods Market Sandalwood in Jojoba Oil 0.5 oz
Whole Foods Market Frankincense in Jojoba Oil 0.5 oz
I’ve been wearing Kuumba – ya my lord since ~ 2015 and I love them bc they’re pretty organic & use carrier oil bases of jojoba or coconut oil for their scents. My favorite is Amber Paste: it’ll last you bc it’s so potent. The WF I shopped at didn’t carry Lavendar Lace & Creamy Coconut, so I also started buying on Kuumba’s website (where I can also buy bigger bottles). Frankincense & Sandalwood are ’21 and ’22 recent additions. I love the way Sandalwood smells, & I somexs use it on a clean rag w water to wash my face, to lighten blemishes, and behind my ears for fragrance.
