The Woodsman

I had a boyfriend once and we were deep in the woods; it was too quiet, he was ahead of me, and I looked wildly around as I tried to keep up. I could hear the crunch of the leaves and all that I could not see, we weren’t together anymore but spent the weekend together, as friends. When he stopped and I caught up to his back, he turned to me and I looked at his face and realized that I had wondered what he might do, until I saw that we stood on the precipice of a view of the city, and I breathed a sigh of relief.
